“Do this in remembrance of me”

Familiar words to us as we ‘take communion

.

This year churches will be celebrating resurrection Sunday on the Biblical ‘Feast of First Fruits’. Do they realise it is one of God’s feasts of Passover? Is this knowledge important? Something to think about isn’t it.

Well back to those immortal words. “Do this in remembrance of me” My response has often been “How could the disciples possibly forget Him” At the time they probably thought that too. How easy it is to forget though.

Probably each of us has had events in our lives we can say “I’ll never forget that” and yet as time passes certain elements fade. For grateful believers our salvation ensures we will remember.

Anzac Day resounds with the call ‘we will remember them.’ The Holocaust Remembrance Day, has taken the next step and declared ‘never again’ and yet in Israel the call is ‘never again is now’

Israel will not forget its people held as hostages by Hamas, and don’t let’s be fooled, celebrated by most Gazans. As I write this Gazans are rallying ‘against’ Hamas. The world is gleeful. – ‘see the poor Palestinians don’t want Hamas.’ But is it a plan for Palestinians to keep control of a rebuilt terror entity in a rebuilt Gaza so they can continue their call of ‘from the river to the sea’?

May we never forget that Just as the Israelites were set free from the clutches of the Egyptians by the sacrifice of the Passover lamb, we also, were set free through the sacrifice of Yeshua the Passover lamb. How precious is the Passover seder as it reveals through the four cups, the story of sanctification, deliverance, and redemption. The fourth cup taken at Passover is the cup of praise. Jews all over the world will follow a form of seder including the four cups of wine. They will praise the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. When you know to whom you belong it brings its own peace & happiness.

The UN World Happiness Report has ranked Israel number 8 in the happiest people in the world list. (Even in the midst of a war!) In ranking, only Nordic countries and Costa Rico ranked higher. (FYI. NZ is number 12)

Let’s share the message of inner peace & happiness the Jewish Messiah Jesus/Yeshua brings, and remember: we’d love to see you at the Passover seder on the 16th April !

Praying with you for:

The peace of Jerusalem

Godly wisdom for the government of Israel.

God’s peace and protection for His beloved Israel.

Jan.
